#Episode 7- Enlighten the Shadows

Back in autumn 2022, mental health development worker, Sue Buckby, caught up with Rory Green, founder of charity Enlighten the Shadows to chat all things men's mental health...

Enlighten the Shadows (ETS) is a Nottingham born charity aimed at supporting men's mental health, from anxious thoughts all the way to suicidal thoughts. They support over 500 men, locally, nationally and even internationally, through their online platform and private Facebook group.

In this video, Rory explains how ETS was birthed out of his own painful experience and his passion to help prevent suicides in men by creating space for Real Men, Real Talk. Nothing is off limits in the supportive groups and this charity is growing at an incredible rate. Rory shares his thoughts on Mental health within a faith context and how mighty men and women of the Bible, who have had their own mental struggles, give him inspiration.

In the fourth episode of TNT Talks, Clare Buckby from The Salvation Army Anti-Trafficking and Modern Slavery Unit talks with Hannah from the TNT team.
Clare shares about how they support survivors in Nottingham, how they are planning to offer more support as places begin to reopen, and the story of how one young man found himself in slavery.

In our third episode of TNT Talks, Adam Baker from Refugee Roots talks with our Lead Development Worker Hannah. Adam shares about how they have been continuing to support Asylum Seekers and Refugees during the lockdown, how they work with other organisations and how one man they supported who was homeless at the start of lockdown is now living in a shared house.

#Episode 2- Open Homes

In our second episode of TNT Talks, Lead Development Worker Hannah talks with Megan Towers from Open Homes Nottingham and Nottingham Nightstop. Open Homes Nottingham is a member of Faith Action Nottingham.

Megan shares about how they have been continuing to provide accommodation for 16-25 year olds who are homeless through Nottingham Nighstop and Supported Lodgings, how one young man has grown in confidence and skill, and how you support their work by becoming a Host or Driver.

#Episode 1- The Beacon Project

In our first ever episode of TNT Talks, Development Worker Julia talks with the manager of The Beacon Project in Mansfield, Louisa Hillman. The Beacon Project is a ministry of St John's Church, Mansfield and is also a member of Faith Action Mansfield.

Louisa shares about how The Beacon have been supporting rough sleepers in Mansfield, how they plan to respond in the next few months, how you can get involved and all about Prince William's visit to the project in February.
