It starts here ...

So, you're exploring how you or your church could get involved tackling poverty, either in your locality or elsewhere in the county. We're pleased you've found this page and look forward to hearing from you directly. Let's provide you with some useful information.

To get an appreciation of the impact of poverty in Nottinghamshire use the following two links:

  • Start here by finding out more about the level of poverty in your parish and how this compares with other parishes locally and nationally.
  • This poverty map visualises Index of Multiple Deprivation 2015 data within parishes, showing areas of relative deprivation or affluence. Search the map of poverty, by entering a postcode or parish name and UK, (e.g. Mansfield, UK).

There are a lot of good things already happening locally and we are passionate about connecting like-minded people up. It is not just about doing more but also about working together to share the experience and expertise that different people have, in order to sustain people and have lasting impact. One of the things we love about local churches and community groups is that they are in it for the long haul and we want to do whatever we can to support that.

  • We collaborate with churches and other relevant organisations: Can we encourage and support you in developing socialaction and antipoverty work?
  • We deliver courses around budgeting, signposting and engaging in local communities. Contact us to find out more.
  • We support the growth and development of diverse projects such as community cafes and network meetings. Can we help your organisation connect or develop?
  • We raise awareness of poverty through talks and workshops inspiring individuals and groups to get involved in taking steps to address poverty.
